All about Your KCMA email account:
All KCMA students now have a permanent (yes, you read it right...) KCMA email account that includes your own personal online document and file storage (SkyDrive)with a 5 GB capacity! Although this is a web-based email account, you can download a free “Outlook Connector” program directly from Microsoft, that will enable you to access this account using Microsoft Outlook 2003 or 2007.
To access your KCMA email account:
Navigate to http://email.kcma.edu (do NOT use 'www' – it will not work if you do!)
Enter your email address (usually this will be in this form: FIMILastname@email.kcma.edu where FI=first initial; MI=middle initial; and Lastname =your lastname) as the user id.
Your initial password will consist of the last five digits of your student ID number followed immediately by the last four digits of your SSN.
In most cases you will be required to change this password on your first login. If you change your password you should use a “strong” password that you know you can remember. A strong password is at least 8 characters long, and will contain a mix of uppercase/lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters such as !#$%^&*.
Once you finish setting up your security preferences you will be logged off so you can login with your new password. Now enter the scrambled letter puzzle as one last security measure and you are in.
Don't confuse this email with ANGEL's email service – ANGEL email is merely course mail and cannot substitute for your official KCMA email. Also, please remember your password! Forgetting a password can cause all sorts of problems, so we recommend that you NOT have your computer remember the password – all that accomplishes is helping you to forget it. ;-)
The look and feel of the LiveMail system is a lot like Outlook. Click the “Inbox” button to view your messages. To access your 'SkyDrive', click the 'Spaces' button on the LiveMail toolbar, and then click the “Get Started” button. You have personal folders (only you can see them); you can create shared folders and then grant access to them by email address; and you can create public folders which can be viewed by anyone who has the link to those folders. If you want to go back to your email, just click the 'Hotmail' button on the toolbar.
